Creativity, Activity and Service. It is to balance the academic demands of the IBDP and encourages students to develop their personal and interpersonal growth by learning through experience and by providing them opportunities to develop self-determination and collaboration with others.
Each student will build on their experiential learning from Creative Arts, Opening Minds, Enrichment and OEP. They will develop the reflective process through each experience they participate in and log each experience with evidence and reflections in an online portfolio on the platform called ManageBac
Creativity could include;
Drama and Theatre (Cast, lighting and sound, set design, costume design and sewing, make-up)
Musical ensembles (teach others; perform for public, such as Jazz Band, String Ensemble or Interlude)
Debate preparation or tournament (outside of class)
Setting up and running a school-wide video game championship
Emceeing or deejaying for a public event
Face painting at a charity event
Biology Book Reviews
Photography (perhaps as evidence of other CAS experiences)
Webpage design for school or community organization
Preparation for public speaking
School newspaper or yearbook writing and editing
Choreographing dance –learning a new dance form or starting a dance group for younger students
Learning sign language
Making bracelets or dolls for an international charity
Scrapbooking (perhaps as documentation of one's CAS project)
Making crafts for a charity sale
Pottery classes in the local community
Prepare and make resources for teaching a series of language lessons or working with young children/refugees eg Lisbon Project
Cooking classes where you create your own recipes and/ or menu planning
Learning to play a new instrument
Learning to drive
A skiing holiday with your family
Participating in any sport with no goals
Recreational swimming (for fun)
Walking to school (or anywhere else, for that matter)
Playing pool or bowling on a Saturday night
Painting a wall or playing an instrument
Dancing socially (at prom, spring formal)
Any physical activity already a part of your curriculum
Volunteer online with organisations like the Lisbon Project
Organising collections and delivery for local charities like CCPC and the Lisbon Project
Learning to construct and then producing cloth masks for the COVID-19 crisis
Clothing, stuffed animal, school supply or book drives
Cleaning up or planting flowers at a local park
Taking a CPR class and becoming certified
Raising money for and participating in an activity event to raise money for a cause
Bringing an online guest speaker to a class or club to speak on an important issue
Organizing a presentation to a group of students on an important issue to you or one related to class curricula
Joining and working with an NGO eg Amnesty International
Speaking at a local organization or charity event in support of an important issue
Projects/tasks within a student leadership committee: Student Ambassadors or House Captain
Collecting student data on SurveyMonkey, Naviance or other survey form to effect change within our school
Designing a fundraiser for the art/music/science department based on a meeting with staff to compile a wish list
Working alongside IB diploma candidates in an elective class to design a survey that benefits the local community
This is a collaborative set of experiences in which students learn together to achieve an outcome.
A project will include;

This is an online platform which allows students to keep an organised log of their CAS experiences over 18 months. It provides structure and guidance with help videos and answers.
