The course enables the student to acquire knowledge and understanding in the field of Design Technology and also to develop appropriate skills and attitudes. There is opportunity within the course to carry out problem solving investigations, practical work culminating in a design project, and a Group 4 project.
The intent is not solely the acquisition of knowledge about design and technology which may change or become outdated, but is about learning how to adapt to new experiences and approach problems with the appropriate skills and the relevant techniques to identify the important elements and, crucially, to develop the optimum solutions.
