Reading

Reading class offers a variety of non-fiction and fiction literature. We will read novels, magazines, websites, news articles, essays, poetry, short stories, drama, and the anthology. Students will analyze literature, recognize author intentions, delineate arguments, and will have many opportunities to reflect on reading materials through written projects and class discussions. They will have practice analyzing source credibility, and evaluate media to determine intended audience and purpose.Students will also explore the social/political context of the each class novel, which helps students to become adept at literary criticism, allowing for more learning according to personal interests.
