Class Overview
Study of Eastern Hemisphere. From the City-States of Greece through modern day China, we explore the history, governments, economies, and culture of the nations which occupy the eastern half of the globe.
The class will introduce the students to the unique cultures, history and religions and encourage them to gain an appreciation for the world beyond our city. Students will develop the ability to think more critically and express their ideas in a variety of formats. In addition to the text book, we will utilize primary and secondary sources to develop a deeper understanding.
While looking at the past in important, it is equally important to be aware of what is currently happening in our world. We will periodically discuss current events and how they relate to the bigger world or historical events.
