Speech & Debate introduces students to the foundations of logic, reasoning, rhetoric, public speaking, and debate. Students learn how to evaluate arguments, recognize faulty reasoning, communicate ideas clearly, listen carefully, and disagree thoughtfully. Through discussions, speeches, logic exercises, and structured debates, students develop confidence as speakers while learning to pursue truth, use evidence responsibly, and engage opposing ideas with fairness and respect.
