Ever thought about where your creativity could take you? Studying Art is your chance to explore, express, and ignite your creativity in unique and exciting ways! Unleash your inner artist: whether you're into drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, or something completely new, we've got the space and resources for you to explore and develop your own unique style.
Learning Activities
· Sketching and developing ideas in a visual diary
· Producing final pieces in the form of paintings, drawing, prints, digital and 3D artworks
· Learning about the history of art and its leading artists, past and present
· Viewing art films and documentaries
· Discussion and debate about art
· Submitting artwork for the annual St Bede’s College Visual Arts and Technology Show in Term 4
Assessment
· Two (2) major practical projects
· One art theory assignment
Students don’t need to be amazing drawers or painters to be able to succeed in Art. There are many ways to create amazing artworks! All you need is a sense of creativity and you will learn how to express your ideas and have fun.

Major Focus- Visual and Audio Storytelling

Want to turn your ideas into captivating videos, podcasts, or digital content? Media is where you'll unleash your imagination and master the art of modern storytelling! This subject gives you the skills to communicate powerfully, produce engaging content across exciting platforms, and truly make your voice heard. Dive into filmmaking, podcasting, social media, animation, and more – it's your chance to create, connect, and explore where your media ideas can take you.
· Sketching and developing ideas in a visual diary
· Producing final projects in the form of films, podcasts, animations, photos, etc.
· Learning about the history of different kinds of media
· Viewing films, animations & documentaries
· Discussion and debate about Media
· Submitting artwork for the annual St Bede’s College Art, Media and Technology Show in Term 4
Assessment
· Two (2) major projects
· One theory assignment
Students do not need to have any prior experience – just bring your creativity and ideas and be ready to turn them into a reality!

explore just that. You'll discover how your creative ideas can make a real and
tangible impact, learning to engage audiences in powerful, strategic ways through
compelling visuals and thoughtful design solutions.

· Producing final presentations for clients in a range of forms
· Submitting artwork for the annual St Bede’s College Art, Media and Technology Show in Term 4
· Developing ICT skills using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

Students should have a desire to be able to apply creative solutions to a task and generally enjoy the challenge of solving visual and creative problems.
