Major Focus – A practical application of skills and knowledge gained through more hands-on subjects, as well as real-world concepts
Description
Students are involved in the completion of a project that utilises their practical skills and gives a real-world application to subjects such as Mathematics, Visual Communication, English and Commerce, to name a few. Through planning the project and applying OHS principles, personal development and work-related skills, students will gain an understanding of how the entirety of such a project calls upon a broad range of abilities. Working as part of a team is vital, along with the capacity to manage timelines and take personal responsibility.
Learning Activities
· Development of understanding of OHS principles
· Planning and completion of project
· Use of CAD to produce industry standard drawing
· Construction techniques
· Application of Mathematical Skills to solve problems
Assessment
· Journal writing that reflects individual contribution and learning
· Ability to work as part of a team; peer and teacher assessed
· Real-world application of English and Mathematical Skills
· Ongoing formative assessment
Students will be required to see the project through to completion as part of this subject, ensuring that the timeline for one semester is met.
