Major Focus – Programming / Creating Digital Solutions

Step into the exciting world of software development through the versatile and in-demand Python programming language.

This subject introduces students to the world of software development through the Python programming language. Students will learn how to design, develop, and test modular programs using industry-relevant tools and techniques. The course focuses on building strong foundations in coding, problem-solving, and user interface design.

Learning Activities

· Maintaining a programming logbook to document their learning journey

· Completing coding challenges and mini projects to learn new coding concepts

· Learn Python syntax, data types, variables, and control structures

· Design algorithms using pseudocode

· Work with data structures such as lists and dictionaries

Build the Web, Master the Data: Shape Your Digital World!

In this subject, students will create an online presence to address a need or opportunity that they have identified.

They will learn and/or extend their web design and authoring capabilities with the use of HTML5, CSS.

They will learn how to create a website that can be viewed on multiple devices, like mobile phones.

Students will delve into the crucial world of data. They will investigate ways of collecting and storing data safely through the use of a user-friendly web interface.

Also, they will gain valuable skills in deep analysis of real-world statistics on a topic of their choosing, transforming raw data into meaningful insights.

Learning Activities

· Learning how to design, develop and maintain user-friendly and innovative websites that meet specific user needs.

· Apply essential design principles to significantly enhance the overall User Experience (UX) of your digital solutions.

· Creating websites using the foundational languages of the web: HTML5 and CSS

· Perform data analysis using industry-standard tools like Microsoft Excel, extracting insights from complex datasets.
