UAVs are the next big thing! We’ve been hearing this for quite some time. With its application in several commercial as well as military sectors; the design, development and flight of these UAVs have become an innate necessity of the decade. With this vision in mind, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Laboratory was established at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering in the 2019-2020 Academic Year, with concurrent funding and support from the SNR Sons management, to around INR 9 Lakhs.
The major components of the laboratory include, Propeller balancer, Brushless DC motors for multi-rotor and fixed-wing aircraft, Electronic speed controllers, Carbon-based 1045 and 9 x 45 propellers, Flight controllers like Pixhawk, Ardupilot and CC3D, Quad-rotor frames of size 450 and 550 mm, Radio control units, Ultrasonic sensors, GPS units, Telemetry system, FPV systems, Software for airfoil design and analysis, fixed-wing aircraft design and analysis, and structural analysis for multi-rotor frames.
