The Model Aircraft Design Challenge is a 30-day hackathon event where the students will be asked to design a small radio-controlled aircraft, based on the given constraints. The problem statement for this hackathon will be designing an aircraft with the lowest possible empty weight which should carry the highest possible payload. The students will be asked to register as a team and proceed with designing the aircraft. The teams will have to submit a report on their design and progress through email to the organizing committee, to monitor their progress in two phases. The second phase will be the final report and teams will be shortlisted based on it. The shortlisted teams will be invited to SREC campus and will be given a day to fabricate the model. The models will be flight tested the next day and ranked based on their performance. The top three ranked teams will each receive the cash prize.
Till now 53 teams have registered for the hackathon.
Fabrication and flight testing will be conducted on 28.04.2022 and 29.04.2022.
