2010 - 2011

The inauguration and establishment of the Aero Modelling Club (AMC) was held on 23.02.2011. The Club was inaugurated by Prof. C. Bhaskaran, Professor, KCT (Former Group Director, ISRO) and Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar, Director (Academics), SNR Sons Charitable trust, and Dr. R. Radhakrishnan, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. The faculty incharge was nominated as Mr. R. Sivakumar, AP/Aero.

The Objectives of the Aero Modelling Club was also framed:

• To excel in aeronautical engineering concerned with design, construction, development, testing and manufacture of commercial and defense aircrafts, missiles, launch vehicles and spacecrafts

• To provide hands on experience to the students

• To apply creativity in the analysis design and function of the aircraft

Following the Inauguration ceremony, the Aero Modelling Club had planned and showcased an Air Show, which showed RC planes in flight. Thus began the Journey of Aero Modelling Club under the wing of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore
