2015 - 2016

The Aero Modelling Club, along with all other clubs in the Department of Aeronautical Engineering was inaugurated on 29.06.2015, along with a one day workshop on "IAF-The Nation's Pride". The resource persons for the event were Wing Commander K D Dharma Rao, Squadron Leader Prabhu Shankar, Squadron Leader S D Raja and Flight Lieutenant Renuka Krishnamurthy from the Indian Air Force, Sulur, Coimbatore.

AMC organized a one day workshop on"Water Rocketry" on 06.08.2015. The workshop was initiated with the welcome address by the Head of the Department followed by the Lecture on basics of water rocketry by Mr. Lokesh, Final Year and Mr. C. Ramamoorthy, Third year. The hands-on session started by 10:00 am. Total of 55 participants were benefited by the Workshop. The workshop came to an end by 4:30 after testing the rockets built during the workshop

On 16.09.2015, A One day Workshop on Design and Fabrication of Light Weight Aircraft model, 'AKASH 2015’ was organized by the Aero Modelling Club To understand the basics of Aerodynamics and Flight Dynamics with practical Experience. 56 students had participated in the event. where the students designed and fabricated their own model aircraft and tested it out during the flight-test As an outcome, the students will be able to prepare the model on their own. The resource person for this event was Mr. R. Sivakumar, AP/Aero

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the clubs of the respective departments, organized a NDT Testing course for GRG Po;ytechnic College students from 21.11.2015 to 23.11.2015. Over 37 students participated in the workshop.

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering in association with Aero Modelling Club organized a four day workshop on Aero Modelling for students from various Polytechnic Colleges. The event saw 25 participants from various parts of Coimbatore. The event was held from 04.11.2015 to 07.11.2015. Mr. R. Sivakumar, AP/Aero and Mr. P. Sivakumar. AP/Aero were the resource persons for the event.
