Extended Project

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) allows you to fully develop the skills and experiences that are useful for progression to university and it offers the chance to go beyond the boundaries of A level subjects.  It means that you can pursue a particular area of academic interest in depth, usually in a topic related to your higher education direction.

The course will include weekly taught sessions, which focus on developing thinking skills, ethical understanding, research skills and academic writing.  In addition, you will have regular individual tutorials with subject mentors.  There is also a large commitment to independent study.

ASSESSMENT

The assessment focuses on the processes of planning and managing a project, using resources, developing and realising an idea and reviewing.  You will be required to submit a:

• Project proposal form

• Project activity log

• Dissertation (5000- 6000 words)

• Self-evaluation

• Oral Presentation
