In studying Performing Arts (Drama and Musical Theatre) you will experience a range of opportunities to create theatre, both published text-based and scored work as well as devising work, developing and demonstrating a range of theatre-making skills in the process. You will also participate as a theatre maker and as an audience member in live theatre, develop an understanding and appreciation of how the social, cultural and historical contexts of performance and musical texts have influenced the development of drama and musical theatre. You will also have the opportunity to explore and understand the practices used in twenty first century theatre-making thus, understanding and experiencing the collaborative relationship between the various roles within the theatre Industry.
THE COURSE
During this 2 year course you will study Drama and Musical Theatre units for 5 periods per week, including;
Unit 19: Acting Styles
Unit 27: Musical Theatre
Unit 23: Singing Techniques for Performers
Unit 34: Developing Skills and Techniques for Performance
Unit 3: Group Performance Workshop (External Exam)
All Units are assessed both Internally and Externally with assignment/ modular exams
