If you use a University Mac and you see that your Sophos menu bar icon has turned red, it means that action needs to be taken to allow Sophos to properly protect your device from threats.
First, click the Open Endpoint Self Help button that displays when you click the Sophos icon. This will open Sophos Endpoint Self Help.
Second, click on Prerequisites on the left and see if there are any components listed under Full Disk Access that have a red ! next to them instead of a green check mark. If there are any, you should see a button that says "Allow Full Disk Access".
This will open a window with instructions and a Sophos icon as shown below.
Click on the first step to open Privacy & Security preferences. This will open the window for Full Disk Access.
Drag the Sophos icon from the first window into the second window as shown, then enter your username and password to allow it.
Sophos will ask you to Quit & Reopen itself. Click the Quit & Reopen button to relaunch Sophos Endpoint.
After Sophos has relaunched, all of the items in Sophos Endpoint Self Help should have green check marks as shown (this may take a few minutes).
If you still see red ! marks on any items, please restart your Mac. If you are not, make sure you are on the latest available version of macOS.
If none of these actions solve your issue in Sophos, please contact the Tech Deck for further assistance.
