Your student must grant you proxy access to their account by following this guide. You might even need to send them this link so they know how to provide you access and to inform you of when they assign access.
You will receive two emails from registrar@southwestern.edu. Please be sure to allowlist the @southwestern.edu domain as sometimes these emails get flagged as spam because they will hit your inbox within several seconds of each other. If you don't know how to allowlist a domain, just be sure to check your spam folder to see if the emails have ended up there.
The email subject lines will be "Proxy Account Created Email" & "Email with Temporary Password"(if you need to search for them

You can also find out your username by going to Self-Service and clicking the Forgot your username link below the login. (see figure to the right)
It happens. Don't stress. Head over to Self-Service and enter your username. The sign in box will change, allowing you to click the Forgot your password link. (see figure to the left)
WARNING!!!! Once you request a new password you only have 15 minutes to get back into your account and set a new password. Please check your email immediately and make sure that @southwestern.edu domain is allowlisted in your email client. Otherwise check your spam folder if you are not seeing the email in your inbox.
Again, temporary passwords only have a 15-minute lifespan so DO NOT start the process and expect to pick it up later when you have time. You must log in with the temporary password and immediately change the password.

Unfortunately no. As most of our students are considered adults by Texas law, we cannot grant you rights to their personal information without their express permission. You will need to talk directly to your student to resolve this matter. If this is not possible or there are extenuating circumstances that we may not be aware of, you will need to contact Sean Smith in the Registrar's office - 512.863.1952
