Winter Wonders

Melina

My winter break was relaxing and busy at the same time. I spent lots of time with family and friends and lots of time out in nature. Unfortunately, the lack of west coast snow hasn't created the best snowboarding conditions, but I've enjoyed lots of hiking and time spent near the ocean.

One of my favorite pieces of winter gear is my Arc'teryx snowboard jacket. Not only does it look kinda rad, but it never fails to perform when out on the slopes. The Gore-Tex shell keeps me dry in all conditions, the pit zips allow for maximum ventilation, the hood fits perfectly over my helmet, and so much more. Plus, it is equipped with a Recco detector that might works in conjunction with ski patrols and SAR organizations that use Recco detectors to locate avalanche victims and missing persons in the case of emergency.

Winter break was dope!! I got some awesome rain pants, so I'm excited to adventure in the rain!

These are my wool socks! They're my lifeline when it gets chilly in the backcountry. Generally I wear them on my feet, but they can double as mittens!
