Spring Break!

Since Spring Term '23 has officially begun...

It's time to tell stories from all of our spring break adventures! Scroll to see how the OP does spring break ;)

Some of us explored the outdoors...

Sarah R. climbed at Smith Rock yo!! She watched all the extended editions of Lord of the Rings....and then slept for so many hours.

"Climbing at the Marsupial crags, Morning Glory Wall, and Peanut Wall!"

Maya S. explored Mill Creek Falls and Barr Creek Falls!

"Mill Creek Falls way exceeded my expectations of it. I stood in the spray of the waterfall so long that I got completely soaked. As we wandered around in the mossy woods, I was astounded to find Barr Creek Falls only about 400 feet downstream from Mill Creek Falls! We sat peacefully on a rock on the river and enjoyed sounds of two massive waterfalls until it started to snow. After a steep hike back to the trailhead, we found some apple pie in the town of Prospect :)"

Sienna B. visited Watson Falls and Diamond Lake with her family.

"It was quite the snowy adventure! I took my family on the same "snowshoe to pizza" trip the OP ran last term, and it was super fun! Hiking to Watson Falls during the winter was so cool! I have never been there in the snow and it was incredible to see the water frozen on the cliff's back wall. It reminded me of huge clear quartz crystals!"

Connor C. went rock climbing in Red Rocks outside of Las Vegas! He and his friends did everything from boulders to big multi pitch climbs.

"My friends and I went camping one night out in the desert on the outskirts of Vegas. We fell asleep under the stars. I awoke at two in the morning because something felt very cold against my face. It had started snowing on us! And not just a little bit, like A LOT. Pandemonium unfolded, as everyone ran for their cars swearing and half asleep. I threw my sleeping bag in my buddy’s car and fell asleep in the back seat. Seems like the weather in Ashland followed us out into the desert!"

Others spent quality time with friends and family.

Clare S. went home to California, ate good food, and spent time with her friends!

"This picture is when I went to hot pot with my friends. I [also] went to Japantown in San Francisco and got ramen."

Jeff A. took a road trip from Oregon to New Mexico with his family! He did some climbing and lots of bird watching.

"I found a duck pond with a lot of new to me species of ducks. As I was creeping around the pond I saw a peregrine falcon hit a bird out of the sky and go tumbling down with it. It was pretty cool I guess."

Reese G. went to the beach with her family, including her three younger cousins!

"On our way to Lincoln City, I spotted four tall rocks in the shallow surf. On our last day at the beach, I convinced my family to pull over for me to climb those thangs! My cousins climbed three with me, and we took some photos at the summit! I'm in the tree, the little kiddo with the crazy hair is my youngest cousin, who is standing right in front of my aunt. My middle cousin is looking cool in the middle, and my oldest cousin is on the right with the short hair!"
