Gradebook Navigation
Overview
The Moodle Gradebook helps you organize your course activities, keep track of student participation, communicate feedback to students, and if you need it to, calculate the final grade that students receive in your course.
To find the course gradebook, navigate to the main course page, and then select Grades at the top of the page. This will open the Grader Report view.

Grader Report
The Grader report is a table that lists all of the enrolled students and all of the graded items that are in your course. From this page you can view and manually edit grades. If the course uses Assignments or other graded activities, that activity will automatically have a corresponding column in the gradebook.
To view an individual student, select the letters next to First Name and Last Name to filter the students displayed.
To view a specific assignment, select the item title, such as “Homework 1” to view that activity. The page for that activity will display.
To view only the grades and feedback for a single assignment, select the pencil icon in that grade column for a “Single view”. This view will show all student grades and any feedback comments.
The course total, the calculated final grade, is displayed by scrolling to the rightmost column on the Grader report.
Please note: The Moodle gradebook is not connected to students' grades in Workday, so instructors must record final grades in Workday at the end of the academic term.
Manually Edit and Override Grades
You can manually edit and override grades on the Grader report, by enabling Edit mode in the upper right corner.
When Edit mode is on, the grader report will display cells where you can enter grade values. When finished, select Save changes to the bottom left of the Grader report table.
Please note: If grades are changed for calculated columns or grades for activities, these changes will override any existing grades, be flagged as an override and highlighted in orange, and prevent grades from being updated if they are changed somewhere else in the course. For example, if an instructor overrides the Course total column, the grade will stay the same even if other grades are entered.
