"I examined the mechanisms behind why Disulfiram is a promising candidate as an anti-cancer agent. As cancer prevalence is increasing, we are at a need to develop effective therapeutics for cancer patients. Repurposing drugs provides a cost-effective and safe avenue to developing treatments efficiently. The elucidated mechanisms behind Disulfiram's effectiveness as an anti-cancer drug suggest more clinical trials to take place.
For my Honors component, I am looking into why Disulfiram could potentially be used to treat COVID-19. The pandemic has further emphasized the vital need for drug repurposing."
