Technicalities

With regards to naming:

  • Names are always given with a Latin transliteration if the name is not based on the Latin alphabet. The name is also given in traditional Western ordering where possible. Following, in parentheses, will be the name in its original writing system and language, and name ordering.
  • Alphabetical ordering, which is restricted to lists based on the ASCII character set, is case-insensitive, ignores spacing, and ignores diacritical marks. Hindu-Arabic numerals are listed before Latin letters, as per ASCII ordering.
  • Due to a limitation of Google Sites, URLs are restricted to ASCII characters. Non-ASCII Latin characters will have their diacritical marks dropped (for characters such as ä), or transformed into an ASCII-only equivalent (e.g. ß will be listed as ss). Non-ASCII, non-Latin characters are subject to romanization.

Disclaimers

This website is, by its nature, a continuous work in progress, as there is (hopefully) never a point in life when I stop experiencing new media. Combined with the fact that my perspectives of media inevitably change over time, the site is subject to update at any time without prior notice. Please do not cite it as an authoritative source; always talk to me personally if you require confirmation on any matter.

I take no responsibility for spoiling anything. Read at your own risk.

Audience

This website is maintained by a Canadian, and as such will likely present a Canadian bias. While this is not necessarily desirable to completely avoid, I make modest efforts to appeal to an international audience; egregious cases of bias should be reported, so that they can be rectified.

This website does not officially favor any variant of English vocabulary, but officially favors American spelling. Exceptions are made for titles, names, etc. explicitly constructed with British spelling.

Politics

While this website is not affiliated with any political entity nor intended to make explicit political statements, it is not impossible that I might touch on politically sensitive matters, particularly when referencing real world geography (e.g. the status of Taiwan).

As such, this website makes every reasonable attempt to adhere to the following principles:

  • Political neutrality
  • Favoring the de facto, rather than the de jure, state of affairs
