I was always alone, intoxicated with victory on the hill of swords.

And thus, my life has no meaning.

Certainly, this body was made out of swords.

Status

Anime: complete. (26 episodes subbed.)

Thoughts

It has a pretty interesting premise - a free-for-all between seven people and their heroic spirit guardians (dubbed "Masters" and "Servants" respectively), where the winning team gets the Holy Grail, a wish-granting artifact in this story. Unfortunately, the characters are generally unremarkable (e.g. Rin, classic tsundere) or plain annoying (e.g. Shirou, standard shonen "I will protect my friends" attitude, coupled with vague misogyny). The only truly likable character, for me, is the Archer servant.

Oh, and did I mention: when Japanese people speak German, it sounds almost as weird as when they speak English. But then I don't speak German, so what do I know.
