Break Blade

Fantasy/mecha manga, adapted into animated films and then an anime series, about Rygart Arrow, an "un-sorcerer" - a rare person who cannot magically manipulate quartz - who is called upon to pilot an ancient and unusually powerful mecha against his country's enemies...which include an old friend of his from military academy days.

Thoughts

The plot setup is simplistic but acceptable, and the characters are relatively few and don't develop in particularly interesting ways, but it's a reasonable watch for anyone into the general idea.
