This morning I found a database from the Comune di Venezia that provides recent population data on the Comune, linked here. The most useful thing about this database is that users can select the region they want to learn about. This can be as broad as the Comune as a whole - meaning Venice, the Lagoon Islands, and surrounding suburbs - or as specific as a census tract or an individual street. This is extremely helpful to our team, since previously the most specific data we could find was population data for 'Venezia' with no indication to which meaning of the word it was referring. Fortunately, now we can find population data categorize by sex, age, and nationality of the residents in each specific Lagoon Island and sestiere. This will make our lives much easier!
