In order to make the Isolario Interattivo as accessible as possible, we've been working on making the application compatible with mobile phones. When the application detects that the user is on a mobile device, less useful features are removed from the screen to reduce clutter. Important features such as the ability to filter content, recolor islands, and add map overlays are retained as shown in the images below.
The current location feature is by far the most useful feature of the Isolario for mobile users. This feature places a marker on the map representing the current location of the user, as pictured in the middle image below. This marker will follow the user's movement, and lists nearby map features when selected. This is an extremely useful tool, since it allows for users to find nearby items of interest such as stores, hotels, and public bathrooms.
For the purposes of comparison, a screenshot of the isolario as viewed from a computer is shown below. As you can see, the bottom banner and General Information box are removed from the application when viewed from a mobile device.
