www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1AJqSo6dwf5od5hQ6xPG91OzRAg9g9vo&usp=sharing  - zerg90 map of state forest fire stations - created 4/8/2024

"In FY2022, the DNR once again used a variety of ground and aerial resources to prepare for and suppress wildfires. The ground fleet consists of 182 firefighting engines and 56 tracked vehicles designed to access off-road and remote areas. The DNR uses a mix of state-owned and contracted aircraft plus aircraft from interagency and state partnership agreements. Firefighting aircraft responded to 230 requests on 90 wildfires."

most engines are type 6 - there are also approx 14 larger engines (TY4 or TY5 iirc) - there are approx 14 forestry area HQs - so maybe each area HQ also has a larger engine in addition to the ty6 and ty 7 engines - for aviation they have approx 6 SEAT (4 with scoop floats) and 2 air attack and 8 helos plus approx 15 CWN helos - the 3 tanker  bases (Hibbing + Bemidji + Brainerd) are typically open from april to june

there is more info in the FY2022 re numbers of engines and tracked vehicles

there is also a listing from 1982 with all the forestry offices - there may have been many changes since then - see the index on the map for the url

dps.mn.gov/divisions/sfm/mfirs/Documents/MNFDIDList.pdf  ... MN FDID list ... just has FD name and FDID number ... unknown how old the list is ... each FDID should start with a unique county ID number ... so the list should be sorta sortable ... 1/9/2022 - list is from August 2018 - 3/11/2024
