Georgia Forestry Commission

www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1u3oTRahOUYQciKyiKk31SnRuT27V8DQ&usp=sharing       zerg90 map of Georgia Forestry Commission stations - created November 20 2022

Per various Google Street Views - many of the GFC stations have multiple transports and tracked dozers. 2 or 3 seems typical. Feb 2023 - each station typically has a 100 foot lookout tower also - 2/8/2023 - some dozers are very large with V blades in front - maybe that has something to do with "Georgia clay" - seems to be lots of red clay in Georgia

Per photos from 2022 on Reidsville GA FD Facebook page - GFC has a JetRanger helo with a small Bambi bucket - Feb 2023

GFC might have 1 to 4 people per county typically. (wild guess - feb 2023)  Per help wanted ads - GFC seeks wildland firefighters in approx 6 locations - CDL is required - 80% correct on Ranger 1 test also required - must live within 45 minutes of duty station - normal work week is weekdays - also must be "on call" some nights  and weekends - maybe a minimum of 1 oncall person is required in each county at all times

web.archive.org/web/20230000000000*/http://www.georgiaforestrymagazine.com/gfcairops.html  - 2019 article about the GFC aviation program - just got 2 SEATS - have 1 helo and approx 20 small FW spotter planes

georgiawildlife.com/aviation-unit  - DNR has 4 aircraft - The Unit utilizes three Bell 407 helicopters and a fixed wing Quest Kodiak 100 airplane. - they support GFC - (maybe 1 407 is red and labeled as FIRE - see reidsville photos) - Feb 2023
