Public Safety agencies in Kentucky - usually there is one 911 center per county - primary police services are provided by State Police, county sheriffs, and city police departments - (the State Police probably concentrate on Interstate Highways and State Highways - there are approx 800 troopers per en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kentucky_State_Police ) - ambulance services are provided by local ambulance services and county ambulance services with a mixture of public and private providers - fire services are provided by local fire departments and some county / regional fire departments - state forestry provides wildfire response with 125 employess (using approximately 45 small bulldozers - plus type 6 or type 7 wildland fire engines) - county rescue squads provide water rescue, technical high angle rescues, and wilderness search and rescue, and maybe motor vehicle crash extrication - 3/22/2023
