Counseling Philosophy
“Playdough” vs. “Rock” Problems:
Playdough we can work on i.e. pencil for class, student bothering me
Rock Problems: Can’t change i.e. Fire trauma, Divorce, learning dis.
- Counselor share schedule with Support Staff to get that training and see/hear - Playdough/Rock Problems lesson
Positive Reward System
- Bucks vs. Tiger Ticket- Tiger Bucks for ‘store’, or privileges bought Lunch with Principal
- Management on Bucks is an issue: Mr. Carter had system for “bank”
- Recess time would store time/Movable cart
- Need a range of being able to purchase things
- Kelseyville format
- Caught being good
- Can’t take Bucks away
- Ongoing discussions on Roll out
- Non materials ideas for Bucks ie. staying the pledge, water the plants
- Supports for classrooms that might need extra help-Sarah to assist
