In my current Assistant Principal position I lead SST teams, Special Education teams, 504 Coordination/Facilitation and know that this background would be a solid base in the opening position. Additionally, I am involved in academic discussions with teachers around how we are using the Summit Base curriculum and Cognitive Skills when designing lessons and blended learning playlists for our students who thrive when we apply personalized learning in the classroom.
I bring a high standard of professionalism and resourcefulness for families and educators as a Nationally Board Certified Teacher and Alum of the Educational Leadership program from Mills College in Oakland,CA. I run effective teams who can implement common vision while monitoring results and using data as baselines for learning conversations on implementing strategies and curriculum. I know my coaching and support of teachers translates to effective teams who communicate authentically.
I advocate for teaching and learning in all operational aspects but also know the commitment needed to drive the culture of a school/district and foster Professional Learning communities. I have been an Administrator for a staff of 25 and school of 350 for the past two years. I have invested in my own Professional Development at every stage of my career and know that this growth mindset in education sets me up for logical, empathic, driven leadership. This investment includes but not limited to Brain Conference and Learning at S.F., ACSA Principal Conferences on Leadership, National Equity Project Conferences, and Culturally Relevant Teaching Practices with Zaretta Hammond in Oakland, CA., Stanford D-Lab, and BaySci NGSS Institute.
I have worked in Urban environments as well as Residential in the Bay Area always in a leadership capacity which has given me an expertise in early literacy (K-6), NGSS, ELD, and Singapore Math and Common Core Mathematics, and Project Based Learning/S.T.E.A.M./Design strategies. I have also been a Special Education teacher using inclusive practices and curriculum.
I look forward to sharing more of my vision and administrative strategies in an upcoming interview at your earliest convenience and hope to hear from you soon.
