August 27, 2018 9:00-12:00 pm World Language Teachers Collab Workshop
Cost: FREE and 3 free clock hours from WAFLT, plus extra hours paid (workshop rate).
Location: University of Washington Language Learning Center Denny Hall Room 159
(Just south of main UW entrance at NE 45th St and 17th Ave NE). If you are riding the light rail, get off at the UW Stadium station (last stop), then walk up the hill to the main campus. Ask for Denny Hall (it looks like a castle on a hill.)
Join World Language and Dual Language Immersion teachers from across the district in a kick-off PD for the year. We'll be sampling Teacher Effectiveness for Language Learning (TELL) Workshops. Teachers will learn and apply research-based high-leverage practices for effective language learning and teaching, including:
- Using the Target Language and Comprehensible Input
- Empowering Students to Use the Target Language
- Conducting Integrated Performance Assessments (IPA) in the classroom
- Proficiency Assessment, Student Self-Assessment and Portfolios
- Plus collaboration by language group.
