Student Enrollment:

Highlights:

    • Ballard High School: Welcome a visiting teacher from Hyogo Prefecture, Japan in Fall 2016
    • Chief Sealth International High School: Began a partnership with YMCA of Seattle for every-other-year student trip to Kobe YMCA. We have a group from Moriyama, Shiga-ken that comes to Chief Sealth each year.
    • Garfield High School: Sister school relationship with Kanagawa Sogo High School; they come each spring and we go there every other year.
    • John Stanford International School: Annual Japan Night for the entire school. 5th grade trip to Japan.
    • McDonald International School: 5th grade trip to Japan.

Seal of Biliteracy:

From June 2016, 20 graduating seniors earned the Seal of Biliteracy:

    • 13 Japanese via the AP exam
    • 7 Japanese via the IB exam

From June 2015, 21 graduating seniors earned the Seal of Biliteracy:

    • 13 Japanese via the AP exam
    • 8 Japanese via the IB exam
