The chaplaincy is of utmost importance.

University is the place where many people form and make decisions about their faith. You would be jeapordising a whole generation of Christians.

The chaplaincy is vital for the spiritual counselling of thousands of young, vulnerable individuals. I have had first hand experience of this.

I am a Catholic student - we get a congregation of 50-60 every sunday. Anglican & other faith events attract similar crowds. Where would they all go? Local parishes are too remote and ill equipped for catering for large numbers of students.

The chaplaincy experience, including the work of Rev. Simon Stevens, have been vital to the formation of my own faith. I protest most strongly against this decision.

In Christ,

Luke Virgo
