I am not a person of religion myself, however, now in my third year at Southampton University, I have experienced some difficulties coming to terms with several emotional issues I have struggled for some time with. Having been through this myself, I understand how VITAL it is that for student's wellbeing that we have lines of support. I am sure that hundreds of students in the past have benefited from the chaplaincy in supporting them in many ways. To lose the chaplaincy and Rev. Stevens, who is always spoken upon very highly, would be a tragedy not only to the university itself but to the students who rely on it to get by everyday. Save the chaplaincy!
