Though I am not Christian I have great respect and admiration for the work of Rev. Stevens and the Chaplaincy. The service they provide to both religious and non-religious students alike is invaluable and I am shocked their closure is even being considered.
I have met the Rev. Stevens on only a couple of occasions but he has always been friendly and pleasant and more than that remembered who I am, despite our brief meetings. He is someone who has time for anyone and has a genuine interest in people that is rare to find.
I hope the Dioceasan Synod rethink their decision on this matter, or consider some of the above as alternatives to removing Rev. Stevens and the Chaplaincy.
