This thinking routine will help the students to asses a topic, to recap a reading and to identify the background of the topic, the points they will need to go back on and also to identify their learning.

Use the graphic organizer to complete it before, during and after working with the topic.

• BASE OF BOWL: write the topic.
• BOWL: before dealing with the topic, write what you know about it.
• BROWN CHOCOLATE: a doubt you have.
• WHITE CHOCOLATE: something it has surprised you.
• BLACK CHOCOLATE: something you have learnt.
