Description: So much of art is exploration. Exportation and practice with art is fun and an important part of a child’s motor development, mental development and emotional development. This class will provide a lot of opportunities for kids to explore different materials, mediums, art processes and elements of art. The students will learn foundational skills in art such as lines, shape (form), color (color wheel, primary, secondary colors and beyond), value (light and dark), texture (real and implied) and space (negative/positive space, two dimensional forms) of art. The students will have opportunities to learn about how to utilize art to have fun, actively engage their imaginations, as well as grow in creativity and problem-solving skills. Students will also learn how to have foundational discussions and learn how to specifically encourage one another in their projects and art making processes.
