Chemistry, (8th-12th)

Tutor: Kaite Hietala

Prerequisite: Completed Algebra I

Description: This class is an introductory general chemistry course designed to learn about the matter that makes up God’s creation and how it changes. The class contains 16 modules that explore significant figures & units, thermodynamics, kinetics, atoms & molecules (including chemical equations and stoichiometry), matter and how it changes, gas laws, atomic & molecular structure, redox reactions and acid/base chemistry. Quizzes will be given each week to ensure preparedness for each class. Students should be actively engaged in the learning process. **The chemistry lab portion of this course is offered as a separate class this year in order to provide adequate time to learn hands-on lab techniques and go in-depth on specific topics. The lab should be taken simultaneously with this course.**

Prerequisite: Completed Algebra I
