2017 The Peeky Blinders Tour

The 2017 tour returned to Stratford following the Tour's only way is Essex moment as a smaller but closer unit. Bill took on the captaincy against Jack as the brothers Jenssen played together for the first time for ages.

The kit had certainly taken a stylistic turn upwards and for that we thank you Jack.

The tour took place over the final weekend of the British Lions tour to New Zealand and there any and all comparisons between the sides stopped. And so to combat.

Day 1 was all about the Bill's team winning both four balls and heading into the break with a lead in the foursomes. Friday evening was met with toffee vodka and an early night before the Lions test the next morning, Overnight however the Kiwi hordes descended on Stratford and filled every seat in the hotel. The Welcome had become an All Black collegium of hostility. The game started and ebbed and flowed with first one side then the other taking control. Then the turning point! The coach for the guided tour of William Shakespeare's Stratford arrived and the assorted tourists chose The Tempest down the road for the tempest in Aukland.

Lunch was taken at the hotel where a new approach to customer service was taken by first the kitchen staff who decided that actually there was no real need to provide any food that was ordered and then the waiting staff whose silver service training suggested to us that he "would drag the chef out here so he could be given a kicking". Thankfully sanity kicked in and Tim's fish finger sandwich then arrived after a 90 minutes wait - regretfully sans fish finger.

In the end Bill's team dragged themselves over the line and won 5-3 with Doug's yet again completing a clean sweep of victories.
