Blue (Bulstrode) defeated Red (Hods) 5 1/2 points to 3 1/2 points
The inaugural Redyr Cup event took place at Trevose, Cornwall in blustery seaside conditions (Some say standard and normal, we say cold and wet). The Blue team (masterfully captained by Grant Bulstrode) triumphed over the Red team (clearly less ably captained by Hods) and a slightly soft jelly-like kinda legend was born.
The quality of golf fluctuated from the sublime (listening to Jack in the bar) to the ridiculous (Gerry, we all remember the tee shot that bounced and bounced down the road from the first tee on day 2!) but the challenge was closely fought. Ben Goor began his Redyr Cup career as it has continued to this date, with a non-victory (or a near-victory as he likes to phrase it) and Grant's measured approach to his languid putting style set the scene for putt-gate in 2006!
