With the apartments and the on course housing allowing the professional nature of the Redyr Cup to take place - As the late night poker games can attest - the early days were very much ones of finding its feet. We discovered that Grant had an Achilles heal with the putter and that Gerry was adept at using the road to carry his golf ball in the wrong direction to the hole. A few Rookies arrived on the scene including Matt "Miguel Sanchez" Thompson who wore his national gear with pride whilst Peter Middlemas travelled from the United States to play in his last Redyr Cup, in 2007.
