Perhaps less flamboyant than some of his golfing compatriots Dougs has turned up at Redyr Cups and rarely failed to contribute to his team's cause. Indeed there is cause for him to be acclaimed as the Redyr Cup's most successful player having played in 6 tour winning sides - Is he unbeatable? Untameable? Who is left to beat him?

A solid golf game matched by a dry wit has made him an essential captain's pick at any time, shown by Bill's first choice pick for the 2012 tour.

His 2007 pink outfit has sadly not seen a return to the course although thankfully his 2013 captaincy did not include a three line whip on dress code!

As many new entrants to international competition have found being the best becomes more difficult over time and he has not been on a winning side for 2 years running. He has however adopted the 1975 one day cricket approach to "float the boat" and has no fear about playing the full pint shot to every delivery........
