Jack de Montaignac

Entirely responsible for the formation of the Redyr Cup, Jack de Montaignac has managed, cajoaled and enforced every tour since its inception in 2005 - although has been unable to attend two for bike and child related incidents (not the same both years, or even remotely attached).

What began as an excuse to get away to the West Country has transformed itself into an exciting and formidable beast.

Needless to say it has not been an easy route - the fashion disaster of the "tablecloth tour" in 2008 and his late withdrawal in 2009 meant that the Redyr Cup took itself to foreign climes without him before a return to the UK following the Jenssen Ultimatum lead us to Stratford where his "Charge of the Light Brigade" tactics in 2010 nearly produced a victory in the face of the fire from the "Big Guns" assembled by Owen Beere.

He has cunningly chosen his sides very well as his favourable win/loss record shows. Unfortunately he was not be able to be on both Dougs and Elliot's side for 2013 meaning that a stark decision needed to be made.........Sorry Jack.

Selection as captain for 2015 meant that Jack has had to adopt the Mike Brearley approach to captaincy and drop himself down the batting order.....
