Orange (Bill) defeated Yellow (Gerry) 5 points to 4 points
With the ramifications of the previous year's "puttgate" still hanging over the tour Grant descended on the 2007 event like a thundercloud, which foretold rather too well the events of the final evening where, courting controversy at every turn, he became embroiled in yet another gate, "raingate" - let it not be said that Grant shies away from his gates! Grant, Gerry hid your clubs in the airing cupboard.......
With Yellows taking their captain's instructions on attire to another level, Gerry led his team from the front and sported the very best in Poulter/Daly designed leg wear. Dougs - the pink was inspired. The weather played a key role in the tournament and the first round suffered a washout on the main course (Jack's polite version of "the bastards didn't actually reserve us any tee times") and the second course laid in wait for the unprepared. Whilst the Redyr Cup commands a great deal of respect from its players Pete Middlemas showed a call to duty above and beyond by flying in from the United States to play a key role in his team's victory. He even purchased the most horribly patriotic "Great Britain" golf shoes.
2007 also saw the wonderful arrival of "Captain's drinks" and Gerry hosted admirably whilst Bill gloated like a champion.
