Set amongst the rolling vines of the Dordogne Valley the Chateau des Vigiers Golf and Country Club is asked around an original 14th century chateau, lake and vineyard complex. With 27 holes (set as 3 separate nines) the course held host to the tour in 2008 and 2009 and witnessed some of the greatest Redyr Cup moments. The competition went to the very last hole of the last game as Goor and Bulstrode came down 18 at all square with both sides needing a point to secure victory - the 20 minutes spent looking for Grant's ball at the ruin is still working its way through the Royal and Ancient's ruling committee and we understand may take as long to rule over as it did finding Grant's ball.
2009 saw one of the best rounds played as Simon Livingston went round the original course in 74 shots (2 over par) en route to his 7 and 6 victory (Most generally term it a demolition...) over Hods. Captains Thompson and Shipley contested both the golf and duck eating whilst Bill shocked everyone with his announcement that this would be his last Redyr Cup (possibly. Maybe). Ali Anfield again stepped into the breach and played magnificently on his home course.
