Tracking weapon proficiency mid-battle can become tiresome and tedious due to the micromanagement involved. Similar to Simplified Supports, Simplified Weapons is meant to reduce the amount of micromanagement mid-battle. The only micromanaging left if both of these rules are put into effect is Weapon and Item Uses, which will remain unchanged due to their importance to the core mechanics of the game.
GMs have two options when using the Simplified Weapons rules: Award Wep EXP at the end of a battle/the end of the game, or award Wep EXP whenever a unit levels up.
If using the former, award 2 Wep EXP after every battle or at the end of the game. Use the same chart for increasing Weapon Ranks, changing the "Hits Required" section to Weapon EXP Required.
When using the rules which award Wep EXP when a unit levels up they receive 5 Wep EXP. This means a unit should reach D Rank in a weapon by 3rd level. When a unit promotes, award them with 15 Wep EXP. If a unit reaches S Rank in a weapon (or SS Rank with Ascended Classes) they no longer receive Weapon EXP. Using these rules, an Unpromoted unit will achieve B Rank in a weapon at level 13, and would have to promote to achieve A Rank. If a unit has 2 weapons they are proficient with, they should receive 10 Wep EXP. If they are proficient with 3 weapons they should receive 15 Wep EXP, and finally if they are proficient with 4 weapons they should receive 20 Wep EXP.
