To make the game play more like the classic version of the roleplaying game QUARTS is trying to emulate, the following procedures are recommended to assist in this.
- Remove "Abilities" - this includes General Abilities, Maneuvers, Spells, and Stamina and Magic Pools only work on class skills.
- Because of this change, characters can counter so long as they are within range to do so, and doing so still expends their weapon uses.
- Remove "Races" - this means that unless a character is of the Shifter class, they are assumed to be Human (or whatever the standard race is). This also means racial bonuses aren't applied to a class, and characters don't gain the race's abilities.
- Though not necessary, using the Weapon Might and Individual EXP rules can enhance this experience.
If you feel like the player characters are missing key units in their game (such as a Thief for unlocking doors and chests) you can include an NPC you build for them to control. This is, of course, up to you as the GM.
