Neurobehavioral problems following low-level exposure to organophosphate pesticides: a systematic and meta-analytic review - Finds long-term low-level exposure to organophosphate pesticides produces lasting damage to neurological and cognitive functions, according to researchers at University College London (UCL). This research pulls data from 14 studies over the past 20 years; Ross SM, McManus IC, Harrison V, Mason O.; Crit Rev Toxicol. 2013 Jan;43(1):21-44.

Occupational exposure to pesticides during pregnancy and neurobehavioral development of infants and toddlers - Finds children whose mothers worked in the flower industry during pregnancy scored lower on communication and fine motor skills  and had a higher odds of having poor visual acuity compared with children whose mothers did not work in the flower industry during pregnancy; Handal AJ, Harlow SD, Breilh J, Lozoff B.; Department of Epidemiology, University of Michigan School of Public Health, Ann Arbor, MI; Epidemiology. 2008 Sep 20.

Pesticide Exposure and Depression Among Agricultural Workers in France - Compared with nonusers, those who used herbicides for <19 years and ≥19 years (median for all herbicide users, 19 years) had hazard ratios of 1.51 (95% CI: 0.62, 3.67) and 2.31 (95% CI: 1.05, 5.10), respectively. There is widespread use of herbicides by the general public, although likely at lower levels than in agriculture. Thus, determining whether similar associations are seen at lower levels of exposure should be explored.  Marc G. Weisskopf*,Frédéric Moisan, Christophe Tzourio, Paul J. Rathouz and Alexis Elbaz
