A new multithreading DLL (SVLIB_PIC18F24J50 v2.3.dll) and two new multithreading examples were released: Multithreading example based on SVLIB_PIC18F24J50 v2.3.zip and K8055N demo based on SVLIB_PIC18F24J50 v2.3.zip. The new DLL features two interfaces: The object interface was developed for .NET development environment and was also available in previous versions. The new K8055D.DLL compatible interface is meant for those who would like to use existing programming based on original Velleman DLL. All K8055D.DLL functions are supported, except for the counter functions. A bug from SVLIB_PIC18F24J50 v2.2.dll was also resolved. SVLIB_PIC18F24J50 v2.2.dll did not work properly when multiple PIC18F26J50 cards were connected.

You just need a flat cable, 2 transistors (2N2222 or similar), a 100 nF and a 10 µF capacitors, a few resistors, two 28-pin DIP sockets, a blank PIC18F24J50 and a small leftover pice of prototyping board. You can buy all components at your local microelectronics shop!

Unlike the original Velleman firmware which implements counters in software, these counters are entirely implemented in PIC18FxxJ50 hardware. The firmware supports presets and independent operation and analog and digital temperature sensors (ADT7410). Current temperature value and temperature thresholds may be observed or set via USB. The thermostat may work without a PC when configured.
