p. Kit, basic circuit or PCB?

QUESTION:

Is it easier to build a (Velleman) kit, or to buy just the prototyping PCB and start with the basic circuit from this website?

ANSWER:

Ok, it is much cheaper, if you buy a microcontroller and all the other elements you need in an electronics shop. A raw PCB is also cheap, but then you have to do your PCB design, transfer it to the PCB and then hope that the etching doesn’t ruin your hard work…. However, you can also buy a prototyping PCB and use some soft wires to make connections. You can also make connections between certain pins underneath the PCB…. See photos on this website. It is much faster than a PCB. It also doesn’t automatically lower the circuit reliability or its resistance to the natural elements. It all depends on your soldering and wiring quality. You only need a “real” PCB for serial production….
